Skip it. This church is mired in the 1800s (including the fact they don't have air conditioning). We attended for 4 years and finally gave up out of frustration. A generally unfriendly church, where people attend so they can check it off their list each week. Our first 6 months, no one bothered to learn who we were or where we were from.
Despite being a self-proclaimed "going church for a coming Christ," there is little evidence of this church performing any type of ministry. Located in an upscale neighborhood along the lake, few, if any of the neighboring homes even know this church exists. The epitome of hypocrisy.
Internally, a single family and their "followers" seem to run this church via positions on the church board. Politics run rampant and if you don't receive the "family's" approval (i.e. agree with their views), you will be ostracized. Don't tell anyone you drink coffee or eat meat. Any attempt to modernize the service/music will be dealt with quickly and in a condescending manner.
Some alternatives to this church include Waukesha SDA church and Elmbrook Church. Waukesha is a bit of a drive west from downtown area, but worth it if you seek a more modern SDA experience. Elmbrook (located in Brookfield) is a non-denominational church with Saturday afternoon services. Definitely worth it for the music and ministry outreach programs.Added December 08, 2016 by Chris Franklin - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
